Antwerpen Havenhuis

In Singapore, we could study the construction of D'Leedon – a condominium designed by Zaha Hadid – in our neighbourhood. The Fire Station on the Vitra area of 1993 is the very first building complex designed by the internationally renowned architect.

In 2016 "The Port House of Antwerp" was completed. It repurposes a derelict fire station as a new headquarters for the harbour district of Europe's second largest harbour. The building reinterprets Antwerp's reputation as the city of diamonds providing an optimized daylight control at the inside of the building. The faceted glazed façade reflects the changing tones and colors of the city’s sky.
